The Applied Mathematics Department strengthens its skills in optimization

Andrea Simonetto, from IBM Research Ireland, and Sorin-Mihai Grad, from the University of Vienna, have strengthened the "Optimization and Control" team of the Applied Mathematics Department at ENSTA Paris since October 1st.

Continuous optimization, which has long been one of ENSTA Paris' areas of excellence, will be further developed with these recruitments, with applications in the fields of data science and machine learning, disciplines that are becoming increasingly important in engineering careers.

For Frédéric Jean, Director of UMA, "these recruitments perfectly complement the school's R&D positioning on optimization issues, and provide our students with teaching profiles in touch with the most advanced research in this field."
