On July 7, 2022, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris inaugurated its 4th interdisciplinary center, dedicated to engineering for health. Researchers from ENSTA Paris, a founding member of IP Paris, participated in the event.

Some 250 researchers, students, doctors, engineers and industrialists gathered on July 6 and 7 on the campus of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris for the first edition of the "Engineering for Health" Forum, which launched the E4H Center ("Engineering for Health"). Jean-François Semblat, professor at ENSTA Paris, attended in his capacity as Head of the Mechanics and Energy Department of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.

The forum, which will be organized annually in partnership with Inria and the Paris Saint-Joseph Hospital Group with the support of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, featured:

  • An academic symposium on July 6, in which Jean Boisson, a teacher-researcher at the ENSTA Paris Mechanics Unit, presented his work on Vivodogma, an implantable and remotely controlled magnetic distractor for the treatment of maxillofacial deformities.
  • The first edition of the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster (PSCC) Thursdays, July 7. The PSCC, of which the Institut Polytechnique de Paris is a member, aims to position France among the world leaders in the transformation of science into value in the field of cancer.
