Thématique du séminaire : "An unexpected journey: Machine Learning Control of turbulent flows"
We present a novel model-free method of obtaining control laws for highly non-linear actuation dynamics. The presentation will address the principles of Machine Learning as a flow control method, application to an experimental turbulent mixing layer flow and it's comparison against more common flow control approaches such as extremum seeking, open loop-periodic forcing, etc. This work is a joint effort between our team at Institut PPRIME (Poitiers) and our world-wide collaborators: Ambrosys (Potsdam, Germany), Marek Morzinsky (Poznan UT, Poland), Steven Brunton (University of Washington, USA).
