Doctoral programme

ENSTA Paris is accredited to award the doctorate.

There are approximately 100 students registered for a doctorate and around 25 doctoral theses are successfully completed each year.

Doctoral students are integrated in one of the 6 academic departments of the school, located in Palaiseau, covering 6 research fields :

Admission requirements

Applicants to the ENSTA Paris PhD Program must hold a Master degree (MSc. degree, French "Master 2", or equivalent) and an adequate level of general and scientific culture, a practical command of english and a minimum level in french. Candidates must also possess a sound capacity for analysis, synthesis and innovation, and must be motivated for research work and present coherent professional plans. The usual time taken for the completion of a doctorate is 3 years.
