Administrative formalities

The administrative formalities are explained to the first year students during an introductory talk on the first day at school. It is advisable to have a bank account and cheque book in order to be able to pay the registration fees, social security charges and civil liability insurance. Without completion of these formalities, the student will be unable to register and receive the Student Card.

The students have access to a cafeteria in the school and to restaurants at the École Polytechnique, located five minutes away from the school on foot., which serve midday and evening meals, for an average cost of 6 €.
The students can also use the university restaurants (more familiarly known as Resto U or "RU") which are located all over the city and also propose inexpensive meals. Meal tickets can be purchased from the CROUS or directly at the canteen check-out.

Registration of French and foreign students with the Social Security office is mandatory barring special cases.
The ENSTA Paris social assistant will receive all students on request and can help them through the social security, family allowance and housing formalities, as well as any other related matters.

A medical centre located in the immediate vicinity of the school is open to the public and provides a service for ENSTA Paris students who can consult GPs or specialists.
